If you want to see whether cycling in a group is for you or you are thinking of joining a cycling club then you are very welcome to come along to our introductory spin to meet some of our members and to enjoy a sociable spin at a comfortable pace to Ballyboughal.
Meet us outside the gates of the Clontarf GAA Club on Seafield Road West at 08:20.
We’ll be covering a distance of about 57km and if you have already been cycling distances of around 45km or above then you will likely find that this cycle will suit you.
Please note that a road bike (racer style) is required. For the safety and enjoyment of all participants, commuter bikes, straight or tri-bars are not permitted in group rides.
We will cycle out along the scenic Malahide Estuary and then along the backroads to Ballyboughal and back through quiet country roads to St Margarets and then by the back of the airport for coffee in Raheny.
You can see the route at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39158885 This route might change slightly depending on weather conditions. Bring clothes suitable for the forecast conditions and bring a water bottle and some food you can nibble on during the ride.
The club runs between 4 and 5 group spins on a Sunday with paces ranging from relaxed rides in the White Group to hard and fast rides in the Red Group and everything in-between. So we probably have a group that will suit you. If you like our introductory spin then you are very welcome to turn up for one of our Sunday spins and if you like that too you can join the club and participate in our weekly spins, sportives, charity spins, social events and trips away.
If you are thinking of coming on our introductory spin email us at clontarfcyclingsecretary@gmail.com so we know how many to expect.
